The service
RentGuide is a tool for self-managing landlords in New Zealand to manage tenancy agreements, rent tracking, bond and compliance deadlines, and related paperwork. RentGuide is not a property manager, a law firm, or an accounting firm, and using it doesn't create any of those relationships.
Your account
You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your login secure. You must be lawfully able to act as a landlord for any property you add.
Plans and billing
Free requires no payment. Solo and Pro are paid monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe, and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime through the billing portal, access continues until the end of the current billing period, and no refund is given for the remainder of it.
Not legal, tax, or financial advice
Tenancy agreements, notices, tax summaries, and the free tools give general information based on our understanding of current New Zealand law and are not a substitute for advice from a lawyer or accountant. You're responsible for checking anything unusual with a professional before relying on it.
Your content
You own the tenancy data and documents you upload. We only use it to provide the service back to you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
RentGuide is provided as-is. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for losses arising from your use of the service, including reliance on generated documents or calculator results, beyond the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months.
Ending your account
You can close your account anytime. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or is used unlawfully.
Governing law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. We'll post the updated version here with a new date.
